Crimean Tatar (Crimean Turkish) or simply Crimean, is the indigenous language of Crimea. It is a Turkic language. Today, Northwestern Group of Turkic languages is known as the Qypchaq group. This includes Crimean Tatar, Tatar, Kazak, Kyrgyz, Nogai, Karachai, Balkar, Kypchak-Uzbek, Karakalpak. Crimean Tatar language is under threat of extinction, especially its Nogai dialect (the northern steppe dialect).
