Frisian is a West Germanic language, traditionally spoken on the southern littoral ofthe North Sea. Frisian is linguistically divided into three main dialect groups: West, East and North Frisian. The West Frisian dialects (Klaaifrysk, W`aldfrysk, and Sˆud-Westhoeksk) are generally mutually intelligible, so West Frisian constitutesa single-speech community.
