Haitian Creole (kreyòl, Créole Haïtien) is a French-based creole language spoken in Haiti and Worldwide. It has heavy influence from European and African languages. Creole languages usually emerge in multilingual contexts where there is a need for a lingua franca and where the speakers of the substratum languages have little access to the super-stratum language.
