Marwari is a language belonging to the Sanskritic subgroup, of the Indo-Aryan branch, of the Indo-European language family. Marwari, or Marrubhasha, as it is referred to by Marwaris, is the traditional, historical, language of the Marwari ethnicity. It is one of dialects of Rajasthani which is a language cluster of the Indo-Aryan languages family. Other Rajasthani dialects include Bagri, Shekhawati, Dhundhari, Harauti, Mewari, Mewati, Waghri amongst others.
