Palauan (along with Chamorro) is a Western Malayo-Polynesian language. Palauan is spoken in the Republic of Palau, an archipelago consisting of around 200 islands in the Western Pacific Ocean. Palau is located roughly within the tri-angle formed by the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and Guam. Dialects vary slightly as per regions (e.g Kayangel, Ba-beldaob, Koror, Peleliu, and Angaur).
