Yucatec Maya (Yucateco, Yukateko, Yukatek Maya) is a Mayan language (Maaya’ T’aan) spoken on the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico (Yucatan, Campeche, and Quintana Roo) and bordering parts of Belize and Guatemala. It is similar to Salishan languages in terms of grammar syntax. In this language number marking has different properties than better known Indo-European languages with inflectional plural marking and obligatory number agreement.

Dialects vary as per regions (E.g Western dialect: Mérida and Santa Elena) (Eastern dialect : Sisbicchén, Xocén, and Yax Che)
